I paint primarily in oil and prefer to paint on location whenever possible. I love painting the landscape and am interested in how light and color define the mood and impact of a setting. Choosing to paint on location helps provide a sense of immediacy in each painting, which is difficult to achieve working in a studio. My hope is to create work that is representational, yet allows the visual exploration between elements of shape, color, texture and value.
